[News] Artist to Look Out for in 2012
Posted: March 28, 2012 in News, R&BTags: A$AP Rocky, Azealia Banks, Bei Major, Frank Ocean, Hip Hop, LongLiveA$AP, R&B
Frank Ocean – This R&B artist has a unique chill style and I would compare him to Drake when he sings. He really doesn’t overpower you with his voice but is soft and subtle to get his point across. He also will be opening for Coldplay this summer. Check out his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra for a preview!
Bei Maejor – This producer turned singer/R&B artist has released one single and four mixtapes. His single and most popular song to date is titled, “Touble” and features J. Cole. To his credit he knows what good music sounds like already being nominated for a grammy for his production with Trey Songz. Bei has produced and written for these other major artists like Ciara, Sean Kingston, T-Pain, Lloyd, Drake, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, and Wiz Khalifa.
A$AP Rocky – This guy reminds me a lot like a young Lil Wayne. He is raw and will bring you a top of the line swag like Wayne. Check it out for yourself here “Purple Swag” and here “Peso“. A$AP will be dropping his first album in July of this year titled LongLiveA$AP. FYI ASAP = Always Strive and Prosper
Azealia Banks – We already posted about this artist once but we had to include her in this list! After killing it with over 7 million views on her “212“ video on youtube she is poised and ready to explode on the scene. This artists isn’t afraid of anything and it shows when she admitted to being openly bisexual. Her funky crazy style will energize her fans as she continues to grow!
[News] Grammy’s 2012 Performance Recap
Posted: February 13, 2012 in Dubstep, Electronic, Hip Hop, House, Mash-Up, News, R&B, Rap, RockTags: Adele, Chris Brown, Coldplay, DeadMau5, Grammy's 2012, Grammy's Performances, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna
There were some great performances at the Grammy’s last night with the best being the sendoff at the end. Catch the video above to check it out. David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, The Foo Fighters, and Deadmau5. Chris Brown and David threw it down the best followed by The Foo Fighters and Deadmau5. Deadmau5 did a great dubstep but no one will ever know what that really sounded like until you are actually in a club with the right speaker system. The worst by far was Lil Wayne, there wasn’t enough of him to really compare him to anyone else. Chris Brown’s first performance was alright, Adele did what Adele does and was amazing, Jennifer Hudson had the most emotional piece and did a fantastic job on short notice. Coldplay, Rihanna, and Niki Minaj were good. Everyone else was exactly that, not worth mentioning and I think there are some older artists that need to listen to themselves and maybe hang up the mic.

Rihanna released her new album “Talk That Talk” on Nov.18th and hasn’t disappointed fans. She is climbing up the charts, #1 on iTunes sales Tuesday, November 22nd. Rihanna has gone through some drama and other great singles along the way to produce this new album. Her album has new beats to go along with that famous voice of hers. Every once in a while I like to hurry on over and look at the different music charts across the globe. There are so many different beats, tunes, and vocals. Ever since my travels, I have been inquisitive as to what music is popular in different countries. Here are some artists and songs you might want to check out and bring to the U.S. of A.
Goyte – “Somebody I Used to Know” (has a simple unique rhythm and beat with vocals)
Marlon Roudette – “New Age” (Interesting to say the least, good chorus)
Calvin Harris ft. Kelis – “Bounce (Radio Edit)” a great electronic/techno track
Skrillex – “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” I think my fellow poster will love this!!! Check it!
Skrillex – ” Reptile Theme” This one too!!!!!
